All our social services are free to Tropicana Properties residents. Having a healthy mindset gives you the motivation and desire to always do your best, even if something is hard. Our goal is to provide a wide variety of information pertaining to our Social Services. Please feel free to click on any of the articles on our website. Likewise, if you are falling asleep without remembering because you are falling asleep in the evening at any time and in any place, this could mean that you are sleep deprived, and this also plays a massive part in how your mind feels. Measure how much sleep you’re getting per night – if you’re getting less than seven hours then it could explain why you don’t feel like you have a clear and positive mindset. This is particularly the case if you go to work in the morning and need to be up quite early in order to get to work. If you’re not used to going to sleep before 1am, try to change your sleeping habits. It could be a brisk walk during your lunch hour, or a quick gym session down the road after work. This could be first thing in the morning or last thing at night. If you’re struggling to find the time to exercise, start off with just five minutes per day. If you’ve ever spent an extended period of time exercising regularly, you will know how it can affect every part of your body and mind. People who make a habit of exercising on a regular basis tend to feel much better than those who don’t put in that time and effort. Learn from your mistakes and do better next time - use lessons from your failures to make you a better person. It can be hard failing at something and you may instinctively want to give up, however, it is important to remember each time you fail at something it teaches you a lesson.

If you have found that you get disheartened when you fail at something, try instead to learn to use it as an opportunity to create success! Remember there is always going to be something in life you won’t have complete control over, and that is just part of growing up and understanding what you should and should not focus on. Instead, focus your efforts on problems you CAN control, and if these seem enormous, break them down into smaller problems and tasks. Many of us spend a lot of time worrying about things we can’t control, but ultimately this can cause further stress. This can help you to be real with yourself and perhaps adjust your path if what you are doing is not working. Sitting down every few months to track what you are doing in life can be really helpful to see where you are making good progress and areas that you can improve. You may have goals in mind that you would like to achieve, but how often do you sit down and track their progress? Time is so precious, and it seems to be going by faster and faster each year. Spend some time weekly writing down your feelings, and you will feel so much better having expressed them. If you don’t want to talk to anyone about your feelings, writing in a journal can really help. However, talking about what you are feeling can help to process your thoughts and feelings, and move on from them. It might be that you don’t talk about your feelings because you don’t want to “bother” people with your problems. Many of us keep a lot of our feelings in, whether that be sadness, anger or disappointment.
